Music for Yoga, Meditation & Ceremony
May 24
9:00 – 9:30
9:00 – 9:30
Come and join Giusi for a guided mindfulness meditation to kick off the Berlin Yoga Conference. Giusi will help you to prepare for the weekend full of happenings, inspiring classes, talks, people, and performances. What could be the better way to start than by sitting together and tuning into our hearts and minds?
10:00 – 12:00
10:00 – 12:00
Integrating meditation on cacao, breath-work and a heart-opening dynamic Yoga Flow this is going to be a full body and soul bonding experience. The whole ceremony will be filled with the angelic voice and music of Amber Riya. Come to sing yourself, celebrate yourself and pour your heart out with us!
12:00 – 18:00
12:00 – 18:00
Aerial Yoga combines aerial acrobatics with yoga and effective functional sling training. Some of the Hatha Yoga postures can be performed hanging which reduces the pressure on the intervertebral discs so that the back muscles can relax. In addition to this benefit for the back, the fun factor is huge, especially when swinging, rocking and turning.
12:15 – 13:45
12:15 – 13:45
In this well-structured class, we will let you experience the essence of enso yoga through deliberately simple sequences and the combination of breath and movement. Staying in your own power at the moment meets letting go and flowing. The interplay of silence and movement opens up space for experience: recognize, understand, change! This experience is rounded off with an extensive deep relaxation and a 10-minute meditation.
14:00 – 15:15
14:00 – 15:15
A detox doesn't always mean a rigorous diet, juice fast, or ingesting a combination of nauseating herbs. You can detox through yoga too, with a practice that'll leave you feeling cleaner on the inside and more energetic on the outside. After some purifying breath work we will continue to move through a well thought out sequence to stimulate our metabolism and massage our inner organs. Be ready to twist it out and build strength as you give your digestive system a natural boost!
15:30 – 17:00
15:30 – 17:00
In this workshop we're going to combine the movement from the yoga system and the stillness from the meditation. Ultimately, yoga helps us to prepare the body for meditation – we will stretch, open, and move the body gently to be able to take a meditation position with comfort and ease, over a longer stretch of time.
17:15-18:00
17:15-18:00
We are the world! If, as practicing yogis, we are awake or spiritually conscious, we cannot possibly divorce ourselves from the world. Yoga teachers are increasingly taking yoga off the mat and "giving back" to their communities the benefits that they have been given by their teachers and their practice of yoga. This session will include a meditation followed by a discussion of what is happening as a result of inspired social yoga activists on a socio-political level and ways to develop yoga service projects.

18:15-18:45
18:15-18:45
Join us for a book signing session with Annika Isterling ("Ankommen", "Wohlsein"), Christina Lobe ("Yoga Lehren"), Annette Söhnlein ("Innen, Außen"). There will be a mini book fair with these books available fur purchase, or alternatively, bring your own copy you already purchased.
19:00 - 20:30
19:00 - 20:30
After a lecture on trauma sensitive yoga, Bettina Schuler and Annette Söhnlein alternate between flowing and longer held asanas. In the river of Vinjasa, energy blockades are released, which are perceived in the first place through longer held asanas. Breathing work and meditation will help us to reconnect with the individual "optimal blueprint". The all-embracing life force, Prana, will flow in your being, brining the body, the mind and the heart into a healthy unity.

The best example of the great transformative power of the "Five Tibetans®" is the life story of Dieter Gurkasch himself, who by using these exercises, was able to change from a violent convict to a consciously living and lovingly acting yogi.

Light a fire in your core to discover lightness and freedom in your yoga practice. While refining the alignment of each asana, we will develop our deepest layers of core support and change the way our bodies experience our practice by cultivating both strength and ease in each asana. The development of a profound and deeply felt core stability empowers both mind and body to explore new and farther reaching places.

Yoga Conditioning is for those who are into the athletic aspect of yoga, but are still interested in the alignment that yoga can bring. The focus is on an accurate alignment of the body, dynamically flowing movements, and the combination of different yoga and sport styles that break the box-thinking and adapt to the practitioner.

18:15-19:15
18:15-19:15
In our class we would like to introduce and offer the participants a chance to experience yoga the way we practice it in our social projects – as a complement to therapy. With gentle pranayama, meditation and light physical exercises, we aim to restore the lost unity of the body, mind and spirit.

What awaits you in this class: short movement sequences to awake your body and mind, lots of breathing exercises in staying, sitting and lying-down positions. Nica's aim is to create a good start for your conference day and to share some uncommon (for modern time) practices of Hatha yoga.

There will be a series of mindful flowing sequences of postures that are breath-synchronised, aiding detoxification and purification of the body, and allowing one to stay in the present moment, moving with intention to connect with the breath and honouring the Self. Expect to re-evaluate your alignment, experience stillness and activity as a mirror for everyday life. The approach is one that places great importance on the breath, inner and outer Flow in the body and the mind, and healthy alignment.
